Delgado Community CollegeDelgado Community College is an open-admission, urban, multi-campus community college offering 34 Associate Degree programs, 37 certificate programs, and 4 technical diplomas. Programs are available in a variety of areas, such as traditional transfer programs, business and technology, nursing and allied health, as well as workforce-ready programs like culinary arts and motor vehicle technology. Delgado offers over 150 courses online that encompass 12 Degree and 5 certificate programs that can be completed by taking 50% or more of the required courses online; of these - 3 degree programs and 1 certificate are available 100% online. The online delivery of these programs is approved by the Louisiana Board of Regents. Since the early 20th century, Delgado Community College has served the various educational needs of the New Orleans community as a comprehensive community college and a major institution of higher education in Louisiana. From its original location on City Park Avenue, the College has expanded to include several sites on the east and west banks, north and south shores, the historic Charity School of Nursing, and has merged with the Louisiana Technical College Region 1 to form the College's Technical Division. Delgado Community College provides a learning-centered environment in which to prepare students from diverse backgrounds to attain their educational, career, and personal goals, to think critically, to demonstrate leadership, and to be productive and responsible citizens.
