Southeastern Louisiana University
Southeastern Louisiana University began as a grass-roots movement by the people of Hammond, Louisiana, and the surrounding area who recognized the need for an institution of higher education to further the educational, economic, and cultural development of southeast Louisiana.
After conferring its first baccalaureate degrees in 1939, Southeastern has grown to offer 44 baccalaureate degree programs, 19 master's degree programs, and 2 doctoral programs to approximately 15,000 students from over 40 states and over 50 different countries. Southeastern's online program offerings range from certificates to graduate degrees. Most programs that are available 100% online are also offered on-site so that students may take advantage of the flexibility in course delivery to create an individual schedule that works best for them.
Southeastern faculty and staff are dedicated to student success, and we take the extra step to guide students along their academic journey. We strive for nothing less than the best - the best academic programs, the best student support services, and the best outreach support.
