It offers degrees in 54 areas, 18 masters, and five doctoral degrees. The academic organization of the Baton Rouge campus consists of the College of Education, Arts and Humanities, College of Business, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Sciences and Agriculture, College of Nursing and Allied Health, the Delores Margaret Spikes Honors College, and the Graduate School. Also included in the organization are the divisions of Military Sciences, Naval Science, and International Education, The University offers eight fully on-line programs in the areas of Computer Science-Information Systems (BS), Computer Science-Scientific (BS), Interdisciplinary Studies (BS), Psychology (BS), Criminal Justice (BS), Criminal Justice (MS), Public Administration-Generalist (MPS), Rehabilitation Counseling (MS), and RN to BSN (BS). Three hybrid programs are offered in the Baccalaureate Certificates (PBS) are offered in the areas of Elementary Education (1-5), Middle School Education (4-8), Secondary Education (6-12), Multiple levels (K-12) and Early Childhood Education (Pk-3). Southern University and A&M College, a publicly supported, co-educational, land-grant, historically Black, comprehensive institution, prepares students to compete globally in their respective professions, and to engage in advanced study in graduate and professional schools. The University offers its students a broad education that prepares them to meet the changing demands of a global society.
